Firmware Update For Canon EOS 1D Mark II n, 5D, 30D

March 29, 2006 - Canon is offering minor firmware updates to the 1D Mark II n, the 5D and the 30D.

The firmware for the first of the three DSLRs fixes two problems: one with images becoming monochrome in some circumstances when the camera is set to the Standard picture style setting, and one that overexposes images when the camera is used with the Focusing Screen Ec-S. For more information, go to: http://www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/eos1dm2n/eos1dmk2n_firmware-e.html

The firmware for the 5D corrects a similar problem with monochrome images, and it also corrects the camera’s inability to let the shutter release when used with the EF 85mm f/1.2L + Speedlite 580 EX. More information can be found at: http://www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/eos5d/eos5d_firmware-e.html

The firmware for the 30D corrects the display of erroneous Chinese characters. For further information, see: http://www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/eos30d/eos30d_firmware-e.html.
