November 20, 2006 – Casio Inc. and Stuff Magazine, under Dennis Publishing, announced last week that the manufacturer and magazine will co-sponsor a Toys for Bigger Boys charity event to benefit children infected with HIV/AIDS in Africa. Marked with the launch of the new website www.toysforbiggerboys.org, Stuff’s December 2006 Holiday Gift Guide features Casio products.
The proceeds of the Toys for Bigger Boys event in New York City on Dec. 5 will go to the Keep A Child Alive Foundation, an organization that provides antiretroviral treatment for African children infected with the disease. With R&B artist Alicia Keys as a spokesperson for Keep A Child Alive, the charity event will feature live celebrity music performances and host an auction to include the Casio Exilim EX-S600, S770, and Z1000.
Users can also make bids on the new website, with options for Casio cameras, Casio G-Shock watches, and a plethora of other male-friendly, Stuff-approved holiday gifts and gadgets.
“We are thrilled with this holiday partnership and looking forward to raising money for Keep A Child Alive,” said Stuff publisher John Lumpkin in a Nov. 13 Casio press release. “Casio’s digital cameras and timepieces are the definitive toys for bigger boys and they are the must-have products for this holiday season for young men. We are certain they will help raise a lot of money for the Keep A Child Alive Foundation,” said Lumpkin.
There are currently 12 million orphans with AIDS in Africa, and only 5 percent of the population have access to ARV drugs, according to the Keep A Child Alive Foundation.
Stuff Magazine will now feature Casio advertisements starting with the January 2007 issue.
