Casio Germany Announces EX-Z11 and EX-Z65
March 23, 2007 – In a quiet launch, Casio Germany recently introduced two new point-and-shoot digital cameras, the 7.2-megapixel Exilim Zoom EX-Z11 and the 6-megapixel EX-Z65. Although the German website lacks an official press release, the new cameras are advertised on the website under the label "New." Pricing and availability for the new cameras have not yet been officially announced.
The Casio EX-Z11 and EX-Z65,with the exception of resolution, share many of the same features. The Exilim Z11 features a higher 7.2-megapixel count over the 6-megapixel Z65. Casio placed the two new models in their Exilim Zoom lineup. Both cameras are fitted with a standard 3x optical zoom lens and each carry a 2.6-inch, 114,960 pixel LCD monitor.
The new Exilim cameras are equipped with Casio’s anti-shake DSP to compensate for hand shake and reduce blur. The Z11 and Z65 both offer a sensitivity range of 50 to 400 ISO and a maximum sensitivity of ISO 800, available in its high Best Shot setting. Both cameras shoot VGA quality (640x480) video at 30fps.
The Casio Z65 includes a graphic user interface that uses icon-based menus. The camera also includes a Revive Shot function that promises to boost color in old photos after shooting or importing them into the camera, according to the website.
Casio has not released details about possible U.S. availability.
