Sample Photos

In the following sample images, clicking on the larger image will download the full resolution original. Each photo is accompanied by four actual-size crops.

Detail Sample

Focal length: 6.4mm
Aperture: f/8.5
Shutter: 1/200
ISO: 100

Shot under bright light, on automatic white balance. This Presbyterian cathedral offers fine detail that shows up well in the photograph.

Even at ISO 100, there’s a bit of image noise creeping into the 100% crops, as well as some artifacting.

Macro Sample

Focal length: 6.4mm
Aperture: f/3.6
Shutter: 1/50
ISO: 100

Set on daylight white balance, and under a bright sky, with macro focus.

The maximum aperture of f/3.6 doesn’t provide for the narrow depth of field that macro lovers crave.

Crowd Sample

Focal length: 16.9mm
Aperture: f/4.2
Shutter: 1/200
ISO: 200

With white balance set on auto, and the sky starting to cloud over, this crowd of concert-goers make for plenty of color and detail.

The lack of sharpness with this camera is evident in these crops.

Dynamic Range Sample ('Lighting' Off)

Focal length: 16.9mm
Aperture: f/4.2
Shutter: 1/125
ISO: 200

Using the ‘Lighting’ tool, which is a dynamic range adjustment, you can see how much information is pulled out of the under-exposed areas.

Shooting normally, most of the detail of the bushes and trees is completely lost.

Dynamic Range Sample ('Lighting' On)

However, once ‘Lighting’ is turned on, detail is salvaged…but the noise levels increase.

Color Sample

Focal length: 10.4mm
Aperture: f/4
Shutter: 1/15
ISO: 100

This photo shows a number of objects with known colors, which provides a real-world example of the camera’s color accuracy. The shot was taken with automatic white balance.

According to our testing, the camera had good greens, but struggled with yellows and blues.
