Casio has migrated its high-speed photo technology from the EX-F1 and EX-FH20 into a compact camera with the new Exilim EX-FC100. This small model has a 5x zoom, 9-megapixel sensor and can record images at up to 30 shots per second, and 1000 frames per second video. At CES 2009 we got a brief hands on with the camera, and have compiled our thoughts below. The Exilim EX-FC100 will be available in March for $399.99

Casio gained lots of attention in 2008 by creating two ultra-zoom cameras with incredibly impressive film and still photography speeds. This technology has now migrated to the company's pocket-sized point-and-shoot line, with the new Exilim EX-FC100. This compact camera squeezes a 9-megapixel sensor, 5x lens, and the ability to take 1000fps video (as well as HD) and 30 sghot-per-second still photography at 6-megapixels into a standard-size point-and-shoot camera. Casio has also introduced a new slow motion mode, which will briefly record a number of photographs, play them back in slow motion, and then let you choose which one you want to keep. This model will be hitting the stores in March for $399.99.
We spent a brief time with a pre-production model of this camera at CES 2009, and you can see our thoughts below. Keep in mind this is an unfinished product, and may change between now and its release.
