Casio Donates Cameras Auctioned For Charity, Rebuilding Schools

March 27, 2006 - Casio, in conjunction with eBay and GlobalGiving, is donating 15 limited edition cameras from its new 2006 line to be auctioned on eBay to benefit three public schools in New Orleans devastated by Hurricane Katrina. The 25 cameras are the only cameras of their kind—there are five Exilim EX-Z60 cameras, five Exilim EX-Z600 cameras and five Exilim EX-Z850 cameras, in custom colors of red, brown and blue, respectively.

The limited edition cameras will be sold on eBay from April 4th from April 14th, before the US release of the standard 2006 editions. Starting bids will be at $175 for the red EX-Z60, $200 for the brown EX-Z600, and $300 for the blue EX-Z850. All opening bids are lower than the cameras’ MSRPs.

“Education is a top priority of Casio’s and we are honored to be a part of a mission to benefit the students of New Orleans and to help the schools get the funding they need to continue the rebuilding process,” said Bill Heuer, Senior Vice President of Sales of Casio’s Digital Imaging Division “We custom-made certain cameras to offer limited editions especially for sale on eBay, and anticipate the uniqueness of these EXILIM Zoom cameras, not yet readily available at retail, to generate a significant gift for the three New Orleans schools through GlobalGiving.”
