Canon XTi is eBay’s Best Selling DSLR
January 18, 2007 – Canon’s EOS Digital Rebel XTi wins the slot for the current best-selling DSLR on eBay, according to a Photo Marketing Research data watch study released today. In a two-week period, ending on Jan.16, a new, unopened Canon XTi sold on eBay for an average price of $721.28, a slight mark down from the introductory $799 price for the body, when it was announced in August. Nikon was the most searched item under the eBay’s Cameras & Photo section, but more consumers bought Canon DLSRs over Nikon. "Despite Nikon’s popularity as a search term, Canon had more cameras ranked higher on the best-selling list," according to PMA.
With the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi heading the team, Nikon’s D80 ranked second among other popular eBay DSLR purchases at an average price of $1088.98. Other popular eBay purchases were the Canon XT for a little over $630 and the Canon 30D for nearly $1200. The Sony Alpha A100 also ranked well under Canon and Nikon at average selling price of about $845.
