Introduction

The Canon EOS Rebel T4i is the latest mid-level DSLR from Canon, with an upgraded image sensor, Digic 5 processor, improved live view and video autofocus, faster shot-to-shot rate, and high-resolution touchscreen interface. The T4i is nearly identical to last year's Rebel T3i in size and shape, with a control layout that is only slightly altered to improve ergonomics. Confusing the T4i for just a simple spec bump would be a mistake, though, as the camera is much more responsive, with real improvements to focus quality and accuracy in most situations. The Canon Rebel T4i is slated to be available at the end of June for $849.99 body-only, or $949.99 with the standard 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens.
