Introduction
The Canon PowerShot SX130 IS ($249 MSRP) is a less expensive camera in the PowerShot series, which means you'll get a lot more manual controls that from a Canon Elph, but you're still well under the $300 price point for advanced PowerShots. The SX130 has a 12x zoom, 12.1 megapixel sensor, OIS, and 720p HD video. Overall, it promises a good value.
Design & Appearance
The Canon SX130 IS is extremely compact, considering how much it offers. If you line up the last several generations of PowerShots, you'll see a trend towards rounding out all the corners. This time around, even the buttons on the back got the rounding-out treatment so they rise like bubble wrap from the surface. Overall, it's an attractive, slender camera.
