Canon PowerShot A2100 IS

Specs & RatingsConclusion

Canon's PowerShot A2100 IS is a step up from an entry-level point-and-shoot, with its 6x zoom lens , custom white balance capability and and control over shooting characteristics. Overall, though, it's still a camera for those who value simplicity over precision, since manual controls are at a minimum. It is a handsome, well-built camera, and the $249.99 price seems reasonable at first glance, given the extended zoom and 12.1-megapixel resolution. Of course, we won't really know whether the A2100 merits a 'good buy' recommendation or a 'goodbye' until we test image quality of a final production model in our labs.
