Canon Introduces Speedlite Upgrade
By Steve Morgenstern
|
Canon has announced an evolutionary rather than revolutionary upgrade to its midrange Speedlite 430EX flash with the innovatively named Speedlite 430EX II. The new model improves the hot shoe with metal construction, provides manual flash control in 1/3 EV increments, and lets users change flash setting directly from compatible EOS cameras
The new Speedlite will be launched to coincide with the introduction of the Canon Rebel XS camera this summer, at roughly the same $299 price as the model it's replacing. Pricing and shipping details for the US market will be revealed in July.
