The Canon EOS 5D Mark III sits among the best DSLRs we've ever tested.

Introduction

The recently announced Canon EOS 5D Mark III steps up as the long-awaited successor to the Canon 5D Mark II. Like the Mark II before it, the Mark III is a full-frame professional camera targeting photographers and videographers. In a year already crowded with new full-frame cameras, the 5D Mark III is an important update to bring Canon's pro line up to speed with more sophisticated video integration, faster shooting, and improved autofocus. The Mark III also improves on the video quality of the Mark II, greatly reducing the moire effect that sometimes plagues the Mark II's footage. The 5D Mark III began shipping in March for $3499 (body only), or $4299 with the 24-105mm f/4L lens.
