January 23, 2007 – Canon U.S.A., Inc. demonstrated its camera, video, and imaging products at this year’s Florida Education and Technology Corporation Conference (FETC) in Orlando, Florida. The company announced today possible product integration for educators in the classroom.
In October, the manufacturer partnered with Arizona State University in creating a “digital university,” according to an Oct. 5 Canon press release. Canon supplied imageRUNNER copier equipment for campus copy centers at Arizona State.
Canon is targeting a younger demographic to integrate Canon consumer and imaging products in the classroom. The manufacturer, with a history of assisting educational programs, has sponsored the conservation program Eyes on Yellowstone, the doctoral research program Canon National Parks Science Scholars Program, and the high school environmental competition Canon Envirothon.
“Since young minds are more technically savvy than ever before, integrating photos, video, and high tech media creates a positive learning experience,” stated Canon Consumer Imaging Group senior vice president and general manager Yuichi Ishizuka in a company press release today.
Among the Canon digital cameras demonstrated at FETC were the Digital Rebel XTi DSLR, PowerShot G7, the PowerShot A630, and the A550. The manufacturer also demonstrated video cameras, the ZR800, ZR830, and ZR850 mini-DV camcorders, HV10 HDV Camcorder, and the XH A1 HD Camcorder.
The FETC also featured Canon printers including the PIXMA MP600 Photo All-In-One, LiDE 600F Scanner, PIXMA PRO9000 Printer, SELPHY CP720 Compact Photo Printer, and imageClass MF8180c.
