December 8, 2006 – To the delight of Mac users, Apple Computer, Inc. today announced a free 30-day trial of Aperture 1.5. The photo management and editing software retails for $299, though intrigued Mac users can try to program for free at http://www.apple.com/aperture/trial/.
Introduced at Photokina, Aperture 1.5 is an all-in-one browser and photo editor, geared towards easing workflow. Aperture can process large volumes of RAW and JPEG previews without changing original files, functioning almost like Adobe .XMP files, while also offering full integration with Apple applications and a selection of editing tools, .
The free offer does not enable users to try the most recently updated version of Aperture, v1.5.1, released last month that corrected over 100 issues on version 1.5. The 30-day trial also does not include sample images or tutorials that come with the full purchased version, although tutorials are available online, according to the company website.
Apple’s Aperture 1.5 free trial version is available in English, French, German, and Japanese.
