Amazon Ends Online Photo Partnership with Kodak
August 23, 2005 - Amazon has abandoned Kodak’s EasyShare Gallery for processing, storing, and sharing photos online in favor of services offered by Shutterfly. "Our customers have come to expect a superior shopping experience from Amazon.com and we believe, with the addition of Shutterfly’s digital photography products and
services, this will serve to enhance their shopping experience with us," said Glenn Cunningham, Vice President of Amazon’s Electronics store.
Redwood, Calif. based Shutterfly will offer photo developing, printed mugs and T-shirts, online albums and storage service through Amazon’s website in addition to the company’s own site.
Shutterfly along with Hewlett Packard’s Snapfish compete with Kodak’s EasyShare Gallery service to provide online storage and sharing of digital images, in addition to providing printing services.
