Adobe Fixes Lightroom Bugs with Beta 4.1

October 20, 2006 - Adobe Systems Inc. announced an update to their free photo editing and management beta software, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Beta 4.1. The update fixes a number of bugs found with last month’s Lightroom Beta 4, launched at Photokina.

The Mac and Windows-enabled photo management program fixes editing issues with metadata, spontaneous transfers of directory images to the trash bin, and corrects cancel functions, among other corrections.

Despite the bugs with the Lightroom Beta, Adobe representatives at a Photokina press conference stressed the overwhelming response they received from users since its original beta launch in January. The previous Beta 4 initiated a series of new additions to the program including a new tone curve function, improved Library modules, enhanced proof sheets, and added support for the Sony A100, Canon Digital Rebel XTi, and the Nikon D80.

Adobe plans on "providing regular beta releases," according to its press release.

Users can download Lightroom Beta 4.1 and submit feedback at http://labs.adobe.com.
