ACDSee Pro 2.0 Beta Released

May 8, 2007 – ACD Systems last week announced the latest version of its photo workflow program ACDSee Pro 2.0 Beta. The new version of the ACDSee Pro adds compatibility with the Windows Vista operating system.

With the launch of ACDSee Pro 2.0 Beta, users can post comments on an online forum through June that will “shape the next version of Pro,” according to a May 2 press release. Free public betas are typically released during the software testing phase to get customer feedback.

“Our software development starts and ends with the needs of today’s photographers,” said ACD Systems executive vice president Mark Franklin. “It’s very important to us to invite feedback at this crucial stage, especially as an increasing number of photographers demand a high level of control in RAW processing.”

The public beta features faster RAW editing and batch RAW exporting, according to the company website. Other new features include a Local Contrast Enhancement tool and batch time stamping.

The ACDSee Pro 2.0 beta is available for download at www.acdseepro.com. The beta expires on September 30. The full version of the program retails $129.99. Beta testers and existing ACDSee Pro users are eligible for a 30 percent discount on the commercial version of ACDSee Pro 2.0 when it becomes available.
