ACDSee Photo Editor Introduced

July 10, 2006 – Last week, ACD Systems Int’l Inc. announced the release of photo management software program ACDSee Photo Editor.

"The product is made for the population of creative individuals without the time or inclination to master such complex products as Photoshop, but who nevertheless have the desire to imbue their photos with creativity," said ACD Systems Marketing Vice President James Latham in yesterday’s press release.

With how-to guides, the program performs functions to create scrapbook pages, CD covers, and cards. The ACDSee Photo Editor is the successor to an earlier ACDSee version 3.1. The new upgrade includes a vignette tool, filters, batching, and a cookie cutter tool, in which a photo can be cropped in various shapes such as animals. The software also offers direct exporting to Microsoft PowerPoint.

The suggested retail price of ACDSee Photo Editor is $69.99. The upgrade for existing users of ACDSee Photo Editor v3.1, ACDSee PowerPack, or FotoCanvas is priced at $49.99.

A free trial version is available for download at http://www.acdsee.com/index.aspx.
