Re: Sony A100 Need a little direction if you don't mind....
I have an A100 myself, although I am not a pro by any means, I will help what I can. The important thing is what type of lens you have. For sporting events, the lower the F stop, the better the photo. I assume it is indoors, with a low level of lighting? My daughter dances competitively, in a low light situation, and this is what settings I use-
Camera on A mode (apperature)
F-Stop to the lowest you can get it
ISO is set at either 800 or 1600.... try them both, 800 is better but there is a touch of blur if the action is fast.
Also have set with 10mp, and change setting to continuous photo's
Change focus to wide area focus, and make sure it is continuous automiatic.
This will do it for a basic camera set-up.... even if you have the standard or zoom lens. I personally have invested in a f2.8 lens, that makes a huge difference! It is a costly little guy though!! ($1700) But you will produce professional quality photo's, with no blur!!
Hope this helps you a little bit, as I said, I am no pro photographer.
