can't take pictures outside

For some reason we can take pictures inside with our digital casio exilim camera but the outside ones are either very bright or blurry or both.
Has anyone else had this problem? any suggestions?

Could you resize and post a couple of examples? You mentioned both bright and blurry, so being able to take a peek at both cases would be really helpful.
