Blurry close-ups

My Kodak Easy-Share Z700 is great for distance, but close-ups look faded and blurry no matter if I use the flash or not. Any suggestions to improve this? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you've not activated the Macro function - check the manual out, or look for an icon which looks like a little flower. With your camera, you ought be able to focus to within 5cm of the camera...
