Default Photoshop CS3 public beta

https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entit...abs%5Fphotoshop

CS3 is a Universal binary for all you Apple types out there, so you'll get a bit of a boost if you're running one of the newer Intel-based Macs.

The downside to the beta is that if you don't have a licence for CS2, then you get all of 2 days to play with this. That means that Pup might be interested, but I won't be bothering as I'm running CS1.

You can download from that page by registering and signing in with the email and password you set up, or if you run Firefox and you're an exceedingly naughty person, you can just use bugmenot instead.

From what I hear, you also get a speed boost if you run it on a PowerPC chip, too, not to mention the capability to apply filters/plug-ins non-destructively, new selection tools, and new ways of managing existing tools.

Adobe doesn't seem to be accepting my education serial number for CS2 though - and various forums tell me that this has been other people's experience too.

No matter, I'm happy to wait until the proper release in Spring when, hopefully, they'll have made the little circle that shows you how big your brush is work properly (this is currently absent from the beta) and when, hopefully, I'll have a spangly new Intel Mac...
