Unhappy Help me please......

I bought Casio Exilim EX-Z57 Digital Camera a few month ago. For the first time I bought it, so I didn't know how to have a good picture. The pictures I took was so horrible, lack of light, not sharpened. I would like to know how to adjust these options. This camera had a good looking, I love it so much. But about its quality, i was so sad. I hope there will have somebody in this forum who can help me to fix it.
Thank you so much.

Make sure you take your photos in plenty of light. If indoors, use the flash and make sure the subjects are close.

Shooting in "low light" (particularly indoors or at dusk) is difficult for most cameras. Also, the auto-focus mechanisms don't work as well, so that can make the photos seem "not sharp". While you can compensate by manually setting the focus and a slow shutter speed, and use a tripod to reduce motion blur, you can only go so far. The best thing to do is turn on every light in the room you can if indoors.

Maybe there is some sort of residue on the lens? Get a lens cleaner and give it a try. Also, make sure that the shutter speed isn't set too high, if the camera has the option. Make sure to use AUTO features to test your camera.

All of the above suggestions are good but I suggest you make a big pot of tea or coffee and sit down and read the instruction manual cover to cover. It's not the greatest camera in the world that you bought but it's not bad either - and you should able to get some good results out of it if you put some time into it.

Post examples of your images. Explain what you did not like about the photo and what you did to take the photo.

Someone should be able to tell you if it is a problem with the camera or what could have been done differently to get a better image.
