GE targets everyday photographer with release of three new powerful point-and-shoots
GE will be premiering two new point-and-shoot series in 2012: the GE Power Series and the GE Smart Series. Both lines are designed with features and value in mind, intending to provide more than average functionality to compact cameras.
The E1410SW is the only camera in the GE Power Series for now, an ultra-compact, ultra-zoom with 10x optical zoom, taking 14 megapixel photos. This powerful Aptina™ CMOS point-and-shoot has a quick shutter speed that allows it to capture full HD 1080p video with a wide angle lens and a 3-inch LCD viewing screen. The best part? This dapper camera is only .7-inches thick and is currently available for purchase this January at $159.99. The E1410SW comes in black, brown, red, and champagne.
The J1458W is the top model in the GE Smart Series offering a 5x zoom with 14.1 megapixel captures. There is a 2.7-inch LCD screen that acts as a viewfinder. There are a host of photo features that could be fun for the photo beginner, like Smile Detection, and Pan Capture where a series of consecutive photographs can be automatically cut together resulting in a large panoramic digital shot. The J1458W will be available in spring 2012 in black, red, and silver for an MSRP of $79.99.
The other model in the GE Smart Series, the C1440W specializes in image stabilization and Face Auto Exposure, which detects and enhances facial features to optimize portrait shots. This 14.1 megapixel camera has a 4x optical zoom, a 27mm wide angle lens, and shoots 720p HD video as well. AA batteries power this value model which sells this spring for $69.99 MSRP, available in black, red, and silver.
