Casio unleashes four entry-level point-and-shoot cameras for 2012
Casio has announced four of their entry-level compact cameras here at CES 2012, including the EX-ZS150, EX-ZS20, EX-ZS12, and EX-ZS6. The four cameras are expected to ship this spring and cover a wide range of price points and feature sets.
All four cameras sport 16.1-megapixel image sensors, with the EX-ZS150 offering CCD shift image stabilization. The EX-ZS12 and EX-ZS6 both offer 5x optical zoom, the EX-ZS20 offers a 4x optical zoom, while the EX-ZS150 sports a 12.5x optical zoom range.
The EX-ZS150 will offer a 24mm wide angle compared to the other three cameras’ 26mm wide angle rating (35mm equivalent). All four cameras will charge via USB cable rather than requiring a separate AC charging adapter.
Each of the four cameras will shoot 720p HD videos, which can be played back on the 2.7-inch LCD screen all four cameras share. The EX-ZS150 and EX-ZS20 offer Casio’s signature “Premium Auto” functionality, while the EX-ZS6 and EX-ZS12 will just offer a typical automatic exposure program mode.
The four cameras will all ship in April, according to Casio, and will be available in the following colors at the following retail prices:
The EX-ZS150 will be available in Black, Gold, Green and Vivid Pink – $229.99.
The EX-ZS20 will be available in Black, Silver, White, Pink, Red and Blue – $159.99.
The EX-ZS12 will be available in Black, Silver, Red and Blue – $139.99.
The EX-ZS6 will be available in Black, Silver, Pink and Red – $119.99.
